Philippine Army General Destroys Seized Firearms

FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila – Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Andres Centino led yesterday, October 26, 2021, the ceremonial demilitarization of captured, confiscated, surrendered, and recovered firearms at the 6th Infantry Division (6ID) headquarters in Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao.

The ceremony is part of the highlights of the celebration of 6ID’s 34th founding anniversary, the Philippine Army’s primary infantry division in Central Mindanao.

The CGPA commended 6ID troopers led by Maj. Gen. JuvyMax Uy for the surrender of 86 high-powered and 94 low-powered loose firearms and the seizure of 779 assorted firearms, 291 anti-personnel mines, and explosives from state enemies.

“These achievements greatly impact the enemy’s capability to generate resources, thus significantly reducing their ability to commit atrocities,” Lt. Gen. Centino said.

“Your invaluable contributions bring us closer to our collective goal of attaining just and lasting peace and enduring security that will pave the way for sustainable development,” he concluded.
