New Clark International Airport in Philippines To Reopen

Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Art Tugade, BCDA President Vince Dizon, and LIPAD, shall inspect one of the key projects of the “BUILD, BUILD, BUILD” Program — the new Clark International Airport (CRK) in Pampanga.

This airport was completed despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Touted as “Asia’s Next Premier Gateway”, the CRK is being envisioned as a viable and comparable alternative to the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) in Manila. One of its outstanding feature will be its connectivity with the North South Commuter Railway system, wherein it will have an Airport Express that can transport arriving travelers from Clark to Makati in just 45 minutes.

Captivating beauty and design of the new international airport in Pampanga, Philippines.

With the expansion of the airport and the construction of its new Passenger Terminal Building (PTB), its passenger capacity will be tripled from its current 4.2 million to 12.2 million annually. Moreover, the CRK is seen to generate more jobs, boost tourism, and help propel the economic growth of Central Luzon and the whole country. (DOTr via Asec G Hope Libiran)
