China Provides 550 Million Anti-Covid Vaccines to Covax

China vowed to give away more anti-Covid vaccines to nations of the world.

As the world is marching towards herd immunity, Sinopharm and Sinovac have reached advance purchase agreements with the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization (GAVI) to provide as many as 550 million doses of vaccines for the world through the COVAX Facility.

Good to hear that Sinopharm will provide 60 million this year, and GAVI has the option to purchase a further 60 million doses in the 4th quarter of 2021 and 50 million more doses in the 1st half of 2022, if necessary.

Sinovac also announced that it would provide COVAX with as many as 380 million doses of vaccines by the first half of 2022.

China is fulfilling its commitment to make the COVID-19 vaccines a global public good and has once again shown its commitment and unity with the world in bringing an end to this pandemic, according to China’s ambassador to the Philippines Huang Xilian.
